 Central United Methodist Church's policies, ministries, missions, and vision are the result of the work of volunteers who feel called by God to take on leadership roles in our church family. These very special individuals give thousands of hours of volunteer time every year by sharing the gifts that God has given to them. Some are teachers, some are financial experts, others are carpenters and cooks, some teach while more of them are technologically skilled but the most important thing is they hear God's call to take their faith into action.
The governing body at our church is called the Administrative Council, which meets once a month. The Council's membership includes the chairpersons of all of our ministry teams, members at large, the church's 'lay leader,' and the pastors.
Our ministry teams at Central include: Adult Education, Capital Improvement, Children and Youth, Endowment, Finance, Fine Arts, Hospitality, Lay Leadership, Missions, Nurture, Outreach, Pastoral Care, Staff Parish Relations Committee, Stewardship, Technology and Media, Trustees, and Worship. We are always reviewing our need for new ministry teams as our church grows and community needs change. Each team's chairperson is a member of the Administrative Council. In addition, there are several 'members at large' including a youth member to insure that the Administrative Council reflects the make-up of our church family.
The council plans and implements the church's program of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources in addition to being responsible for how the church is organized in its operation. This group of believers evaluates our church's mission and the ministry of our church on an ongoing basis. |
