God’s Holy Word … that about says it all!
God has given us His Holy Word so that we can be guided in how to live our lives, grow in faith, better serve Him, and then take His message into the world. At Central United Methodist Church we acknowledge that each and every believer can always learn more about what we believe by turning to the Bible.
We offer a variety of Bible study opportunities for members and non-members alike. These studies seek to ‘get into’ the Bible in a way that will lead to new discoveries of God’s message for each participant while providing special times of fellowship and discussion.
TUESDAY MORNING in the CHAPEL – Every Tuesday morning at 10am a gathering of Christian brothers and sisters come together to discover more about the Bible in a study led by Pastor Ron Watts. We are currently studying the Gospel of Matthew but these studies energize those who participate to dig deeper into their Bibles the rest of the week!
SEEKERS BIBLE STUDY – On the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 7pm there is a gathering of people of faith who are seeking more from God’s Word. This study is led by Reverend Harvey Van Sciver, chaplain at The Shores at Wesley Manor.
COFFEE HOUSE BIBLE STUDY – If you like a good cup of coffee along with a serious look at God’s Word then our Tuesday Evening Bible Study at PRATT’s HILL OF BEANS in Egg Harbor Township is for you. Our study group ranges in age from high school students to retirees and we have already dug deep into ROMANS, PSALMS, and Phillip Yancey’s study on PRAYER. The coffee and fellowship starts at 7pm and we’re out the door by 8:30pm. Pastor Dave Delaney leads this study.
MEN’s BASKETBALL BIBLE STUDY – This is a ‘guys night’ where we get in some hoops, devotions, Bible study, and a great time with other guys. We meet and play on the SECOND and FOURTH Monday of each month at our Adams’ Hall indoor court. Shoot around starts at about 6:30 and the games get going about 7pm. The night ends around 9pm but guys are welcome to come and go as their schedule allows. The night is open for men high school age and older. Pastor Dave Delaney leads the devotions and study. * You don’t have to have any basketball talent whatsoever to join us and this study is open to all regardless of church affiliation.
YOUR OWN PERSONAL BIBLE STUDY – We truly believe that God wants all who believe to open our Bibles each day to discover His message. There are many resources available to each of us that can help make a daily reading of the Bible part of the agenda on our PDA’s and calendars! One resource that many in our church family use is the Upper Room, which provide a daily devotional that you may find very helpful in your life.
If you still are not sure how to start your journey through God's Holy Word, just ask one of our pastors. They'd love to help you discover a book that always offers something new and that makes the lives of those who read it better!
