:: Staff Parish Committee :: |
The 2008 Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church states in ¶244, “the basic organization of a church shall include provision for a committee on pastor-parish relations.” ¶258.2 “The committee shall reflect biblically and theologically on the role and work of the pastor(s) and staff as they carry out their leadership responsibilities. The committee shall assist in assessing their gifts and setting priorities for leadership and service.”
At Central United Methodist Church we refer to our committee as the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC). Our committee is made up of 11 members including the committee chair and both Pastors. Our role is to empower and acknowledge the great work and dedication of the church staff. We are blessed to have a growing and "alive" church with the mission of creating disciples for Jesus Christ. There are so many activities going on "behind the scenes" which would be impossible without a committed and dedicated church staff. We cannot thank our church family staff enough for their dedication and commitment. It is the responsibility of the members of staff parish to enable a bridge of communication between the congregation and the church staff.
