The old childhood finger game of 'Here is the Church' had the players’ hands opening up to see all the people in the church after we had seen the church and the steeple. When you “open the doors’ you see all the people.
Central United Methodist Church is about our people … young and old … who make this a friendly and welcoming place to worship, grow in faith and find new friends.
Obviously, God is at the core of everything we do but that doesn’t mean we can’t pause to enjoy each other as friends. The strong fellowship that we have between each other has strengthened our faith and allowed us to be stronger as we go out through the doors in mission for our Awesome God!
Every Sunday between our 9:15 and 11am worship services we have a special time of fellowship with some finger food and coffee added to the mix. When you step into Adams’ Hall on Sunday mornings you can hear the happy conversations, see the smiles and almost always hear someone laughing.
Our faith fellowship groups: United Methodist Women, Igniting Men’s Ministry Team, and Methodist Youth Fellowship all help encourage the people of our church to get to know each other on a more personal basis.
Mission projects, Bible study groups, Ministry Team participation, Advent Dinner, Talent Show, and Men’s Basketball are just a few of the ways the people of Central enjoy fellowship time together. We truly like being with each other!
Obviously, we also commune together on God’s Holy Word, which creates the greatest atmosphere’s of fellowship.
Visitors quickly feel like they have known everyone forever … most new members comment that what made them stay at Central was the friendliness of our people. So, if you visit us … be sure to say ‘Hello, I am new’ and you will be welcomed into a fellowship of believers who are friendly and who are ready to do great things for God!
