“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, an release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor ….” Isaiah 61: 1,2
It’s really in everything that we do here at Central United Methodist Church. Missions … going into the world … serving others. Ours is not a church that sits back doing nothing instead we are an activist church for Jesus Christ.
You will find people from our church feeding the homeless in Atlantic City as part of the Atlantic City Urban Partnership … you’ll see our youth and their families walking with hundreds of others to raise money for the CROP WALK and for the MARCH of DIMES …
The missions of our church are about where each member takes his or her faith. It can be as simple as caring for an elderly neighbor or someone with a disability to as involved as going to a foreign country on a mission trip.
When you take on the mission we are called to by God, the possibilities and opportunities are endless!
