 We are a busy church! We are a church that believes church goes right through our doors and out into the world! As a people, we believe that God has called us to serve the people of the world!
When one considers our faith realities as we move forward to make ‘new disciples for Jesus Christ’ it is not surprising that our church through the years has become involved in many “SPECIAL PROJECTS” that require financial donations to be successful. When budgets are put into place one can never project all of the events of the coming year so the people of Central have always been ready to support programs or necessities that are not part of the ongoing budget. Every month during our service of Holy Communion, a special offering is taken to help provide for discretionary expenses that can occur at any time.
During the last few years, SPECIAL PROJECT MONIES have been raised to feed the hungry in Atlantic City; to support the Atlantic City Urban Partnership’s efforts to minister to individuals in need; to provide assistance to struggling individuals and families; to send mission teams to Mississippi and Uganda to do God’s work; and to provide support for the work of UMCOR ** hyperlink UMCOR to and other United Methodist causes.
Jesus said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consumer and where thieves break in and steal. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6: 19 & 21 (NSRV)
